Ground Transportaion in Morocco

Rental Car^

This car rental website was easy to use and gave very affordable prices. Avis.com gave many different options of cars for everyones style and needs. In Morocco it is not adventagous to get a rental car when traveling through the cities. There are not many places to park since many people walk to their destinations. Many shops can only be accessed by walking down a cobblestone path meant for walking travelers and bikes. However, renting a car can come in handy when traveling from city to city. The majority of the land is desert an can be harsh during the summer. A cool AC in a car can be a real life saver for long drives. For anyone under 25 there is a $15 fee.

Plane^

For a round trip flight form Omaha, Nebraska to Madrid, Spain it would cost $623. To then go round trip from Madrid, Spain to Marrakesh Menara Airport in Morocco it would cost $93. This would take you through two different airlines but save hunderads of dollars instead of flying directly to Morocco.

Train^

First opened in 2011, this highspeed train is the best way to travel between major cities. Second class tickets cost between $7.72 to $14.56 depending on what cities you are traveling between. Children under the age of 4 get on for free, children ages 4-15 only have to pay $4.89 for second class to any city, groups of 19 or more get a 15% discount. Other discounts include ages 16- 26 and 60+ get 15% off and any student under the age of 26 gets 30% off. This efficient and cheap way of long distance travel is the way to do it for most of the major cities. These tickets can only be bought in person and are limited per cabin so if you are planning on traveling cheap, get there early.

Bus^

Buses are an cost effective way of traveling from city to city. They typically cost more than a train, but since the COVID-19 outbreak there has been no updates or reference routes given on booking websites. From other research bus tickets are typically around $50 for a one way.

Creative Option^

Personally I have always wanted a Moped and in Morocco it is easy to drive these around the city without worrying about you size. For about $81.61 a day, this pricey experience could lead to a lot of fun memories. This option is fun and creative but not the best when traveling with a low budget.
