Personal Information

Jessica Epps and her dog Scruffy

Hello, my name is Jessica L. Epps and I am twenty 20 of age. I was born in Kingsport, Tennessee but moved to Papillion, Nebraska in 2002 due to a divorce. My family has moved houses three times since coming to Papillion, but only by a few miles. During my childhood I had many pet companions in my life. The first was a Golden Retreiver named Dusty. She was present when I was born and traveled with me and my mother to our first house in Papillion. Since Dusty was a handful of dog years older than me, she sadly passed away when I was 5 years old. Shortly after we adopted a kitten that we called Maui. Maui was wild and loved to play. However, we had to sell her because she would play a bit too rough for six year old me and dug her claws into my legs and make me bleed almost everyday. The next year there was a new member in my household and a new house. My mother, stepfather and I got a house together and suprised me with a new puppy. I named my new dog Scruffy because of her hair. This little seven pound dog grew up with me and helped me throughout the most difficult parts of my childhood. The saddest part of my life so far was putting down Scruffy because of a cancer lump that grew to the size of an adult fist. Jumping back to when I was sixteen, I bought a fish that was the first pet I would be taking full reponsability for. I name my new beta Pascal. Pascal lived thoughout the second half of my high school years and all of my freshman year of college until he passed away last summer. A few days before the Christmas of 2018, my family adopted a young mutt from Oklahoma named Blossom. She has brought many exciting moments to my families household along with numerous laughable moments as well. Although I care a lot about my pets, I also have some hobbiesand activities I have been interested in too. While growing up I have been in many sports, such as Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Dance, Trap Shooting and Color Guard. Since sixth grade I have been playing the alto saxaphone and lettered with it each year of high school. Ever since graduation I have not picked up my instrument many times. Throughout high school I was in the schools Color Guard for the Marching Band. My last two years I was the drill captain and since I graduated, I have been helping coach the team. More recently I have been taking up scrapbooking, knitting and caring for my many plants. I have had three jobs since I truned sixteen that have helped me build character and social skills. My first job was a waitress at Wheatfields that lasted about a year until the location I worked at shut down. The day after my first job ended I started a waitress job at Summer Kitchen Cafe and worked there for about four months before I quit do to many reasons. A few days later I started my current job as a child watch attendent at Prarie Life Fitness, but has been renameed to The Athletic Club. This job has gotten me many babysitting opportunities along with a nannying job.

Education

Jsssica Epps in her Sophmore year of Color Guard

I went to G. Stanley Hall Elementary as a child and struggled with reading and writing. For a couple of years I was also enrolled in Huntington to help catch me up to the proper reading level and writing skills. I was eventually caught up, but I still struggle with reading aloud and spelling due to my slight dyslexia. I was at La Vista Jr. High for a two years and proved my new worth by advancing in my classes and taking honors courses. At Papillion La-Vista High School, I took mostly honors and AP courses with an average 3.6 gpa. Now in college I wish to advance my education and get my masters degree. My dream however is to get my doctorites by the time I am thirty years old.

Why I am Taking This Class

Jessica Epps at Disney Land

I am taking this class due to many reasons. When I have kids of my own I would love to work from home so I can be with my children more often and becoming a travel agent peaked my intrest. I have always loved to travel and would one day do a month or two backpacking tour of Europe and travel to a few other countries in each continent. My dream would be to travel to every recognized country, but that is a bit too unrealistic for my current life. I am also hoping this class helps me refine my itinerary and pricing skills.

Assigned videos

So far I have not watched any of the assisted videos, but I did quickly read over the HTML Tutorial Guide to refresh my memory on the basics.

I agree to post all assignments for this course on the web for the professor and other students to view. Submitted by Jessica Epps on January 14, 2020.
